CHRISTMAS PARTY LEWK
Let me just start by saying this. I find the utmost joy in getting glammed up for a party. It’s therapy combined with the most exciting feeling in the world- the ability to strut my stuff and show off at the end- it may sound superficial, but it’s my reality.. and I’m here to tell you that you MUST, no really, YOU MUST DO WHAT BRINGS YOU JOY!
With that being said, I bring you my Christmas Party Look. I describe it as glam rock meets classic meets bombshell, because that’s how I felt in this outfit- like a million freaking bucks!
TWO TAKEAWAYS FOR YOU
// ONE // FREDDIE MERCURY, THE MAN, THE INDIVIDUAL, THE STAR THAT SHONE EXTRA BRIGHT. When I saw this shirt, I remember how fast I bought it- this little hot pants number with this hair is legit my fave Freddie-proof that he was fabulous before the yellow jacket! Freddie has long held a special place in my heart. Was he a total diva? Why of course, darling! However, you cannot discount how iconic he is. He pushed boundaries, he never gave up, he had flair, he had style, and he lived life to the fullest. He had this fire inside of him. When he was on stage, in front of a camera, or singing, it oozed out of him. I like to think that I have a similar fire within myself- and no matter how tough the going gets, I choose to remember that fire & let it push me to work harder, to do more, to push myself out of my comfort zone.. and I hope all of you will too! **shirt is no longer available, linked some other options. Here, Here & Here!
// TWO // I feel especially proud of the fact that for the majority of this look, I was able to shop my own closet, and that it was honestly super comfortable! I mean, what’s more comfortable than a t-shirt? Of course, this dazzling skirt couldn’t be comfortable, right? WRONG! This skirt has the right amount of stretch, shape, and sparkle, and came without a hefty price tag seeing as I snagged it at the always chic, Target (Tarzay)- where it is still available in straight & plus sizes people! When I thought of pairing them, I remember thinking I’d never want to wear anything else.. how will I possibly top myself? I’m not sure I can when Freddie Mercury was my inspiration 😉 Also, I won’t lie, the shoes* got uncomfortable about an hour in, but the pain was worth it.
To complete the look, I did a glam sparkly red eye to match my skirt.. thank my hooded eyes for the fact that you can’t see it so well in the photo. However, I made a video where I re-create the look, which is on my YouTube Channel, and I’ll leave the video below for your viewing pleasure!
To wrap up, I guess I just have one question. What icon or person from the past inspires you? Comment below please!
* asterisks next to a word indicate that the link may feature a similar item instead of the exact one- I try my best to find similar options!
